Martha at 14 months

Here she is again, and more wonderful than ever. Mummy is feeling quite excited about the summer months full of Martha time! This month, Martha has really begun to enjoy her ability to walk. She wakes up every morning happy and eager to go, and we can hear her yelping to herself in the crib before we (or should I say "I") go in to pick her up. She marches about the house with purpose, stopping only to bend over and pluck up this or that interesting object (or bit of lint). She continues to be an avid, not to say greedy, eater, and mealtimes are messy but joyful affairs. Martha is beginning to make more sounds, and when she picks up her puppet of Gustav Mole she seems to start singing, since she's heard mummy doing so. Her Nana Teri claims that Martha said "Bye Dog" once, but although we think our baby is smart we're pretty skeptical of this claim. Recent events of note in our lives with Martha: dinner at her playmate Leah's house (a hectic affair of baby stair-racing); camping at Henry Coe and Lake Tahoe; and the visit of Great Uncle Nev and Great Auntie Mand.
Martha spies a redwinged blackbird at Frog Lake in Henry Coe State Park.
A new play area! Martha in our trusty tent.
And with Daddy in the tent, also at Henry Coe.
A brief break from camping to chase a pigeon in the Yerba Buena Gardens in S.F. Note GA Mand and GU Neville.
First taste and touch of snow, in Desolation Wilderness near Tahoe.
And with Daddy by Eagle Lake
and Cascade Lake, Tahoe in the distance.
And, the real treat--two videos of M. Please note that there are others available on YouTube as well--check out all of her films!
